Princess Polly was developed in Australia back in 2010 yet have expanded their brand to Los Angeles. As an international business, Princess Polly targets many different types of people. They place a high emphasis on their image and the way that their team carries themself. They also have many associates who were once Princess Polly supports whom now run their brand. 

Princess Polly is clothing brand that specifically aims to attack the trends as they hit streets. Princess Polly places their main focuses on ensuring that the clothing that they develop is the next big thing in the world of social media. Since Princess Polly is an online shop for consumers, they rely heavily on the idea of using social media platforms to spread coverage of their brand. Some social media platforms that they utilize include Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Facebook, Snapchat, Youtube, and even their own blog. As a internet based business it is important to get your name and image on the face of every surface. Princess Polly uses their social media outlets every day and posts multiple times a day keeping their consumers engaged. 

Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters is a clothing brand that is not only heavily influential in their store front but online as well. As a larger brand, they are easily recognizable for their modern street fashion. They were founded in Pennsylvania of 1970. There are almost 200 operating stores as of today along with their social media presence. Urban Outfitter's partners with many major brands such as Nike, Adidas, Champion, Dickies, Levi's, etc. thus enhancing their likeness to another level. 

Urban Outfitters makes use of social media platforms such as Instagram to primarily reach its consumers. As instagram being an heavy source of advertising, there are multiple post daily. With Tik Tok being an uprising social media platform, Urban Outfitters has also used this to reach a broader audience. The Urban Instagram carries 9.2 million followers while the Urban TikTok carries a total of 144.5 thousand followers. By expanding their brand to this platform they have been able to keep up with the new and existing trends although their company has been established since 1970. Urban Outfitters naturally carries a care free vibe with many different aesthetics that has been portrayed on their social media. 

Cotton On

Cotton On is a brand that was developed also an Australia based company that was developed in the back of a van. With a heavy reliance on simple, cotton on branded themselves. With a rough start in not making sales initially, the owner continued to push forward and not let this break them. He found that quality was of importance and should not be sacrificed in satisfying the consumers needs. The Cotton On brand is carried both in stores as well as on the internet. 

The primary social media platforms that Cotton On utilizes includes Instagram and Twitter. The social media team updates their  pages continuously throughout the day. With the constant updates to social media, they are able to keep themselves freshly present in the minds of the consumer. The instagram is followed by around 1 million people while the twitter is followed by 34.2 thousand followers. This is not as near as much as some as the other brands yet they still have a high fan base and provide quality clothes for respectable prices. 

Shein

Shein is a global brand that employees nearly 10,000 people nationwide and delivers to over 150 countries. The main focus of the Shein brand is to provide affordable, trendy, and unique clothing items to those who may not be as interested in spending a lot of money on clothes. The company was founded in 2012 

Shein places a heavy emphasis on the social media platforms. Instagram has been one of their top performers regarding the fan base that was developed. Shein has been identified constantly on a wide rang of social media platforms in which they are constantly gaining new consumers no matter what they are looking for. Shein has also developed an app in which their customers can easily log into their accounts and make ordering more efficient. Shein carries around 25.8 million followers on instagram and makes instagram posts daily, sometimes more frequently than so. 

Fashion Nova 

Fashion nova has been one of the most well recognized brands in the recent years. Being a global business, they have reach consumers in many different areas of the country. In their initial uprising they gained many followers due to the type of clothing they offered as well as the image to developed in which people modeled their clothes. 

Fashion Nova has many different sources in which they promote their brand. As many others, Instagram is heavily influential based on the instagram models and lives that consumers are aiming to live. Fashion Nova carries about 21.4 million followers on instagram. Although they do not make posts as frequently as some of the other brands, they do frequently use their stories to reach people. I think that Fashion Nova has a great marketing team that knows where to target their interest and pin point what will make consumers happy. They also have developed a mobile app, ensuring that order from them can be as simple as possible. 


Social media can have a major impact on a brand whether it be positive or negative. Social media is an outlet for consumers and business owners to express their ideas and hopefully develop a well developed relationship between the two. With many different platforms and sites, often times brands will use a wide variety in order to sufficiently get their products known. I believe that each of these businesses are successful and paved their way within their own route. Although they did all use social media as a necessary outlet, some of them expanded to stores and other developed an even larger brand strictly known to the internet. After doing the research today, I was shocked by how ling some of the businesses had been established which furthers my point that once social media gets involved the brands reach a wider range of consumers and ultimately because globally and nationally recognizable. Without me having an instagram, twitter, TikTok, etc., I may have never known about some of these businesses.

Week 12A: Using Business Specific Online Tools

In researching the available tools this week, I found that there are various amounts of sources in which one has the ability to promote their business. I believe that in our current times, using online collaboration tools has become increasingly popular amongst the business world as so many people are participating remotely. An example of this could be through Microsoft Teams in which there are tools provided in the software that allow you to communicate and take the proper steps in order to enhance the project at hand. For social networking, I looked into what Hivebrite had to offer as it allowed for people to share their knowledge, collaborate, get feedback, and enhance opportunities. With a well organized platform like this, business owners and professionals will be able to efficiently make the neccessary adaptions to successfully  grow their business and brand.  I think that google offers so many tools that people tend to miss out on simply because they did not know that they exist

Week 1A: My Blog Theme

The unique ability to create a blog allows for creativity to shine in the brightest light. in creating my blog I wanted to find something that not only caught my eye but others as well while simultaneously keep things sweet and simple. After trying a couple of different options, I decided to keep a basic theme focused on solid colors that complimented one another. I found that while using blogger, there was quite a bit of room to allow me to make changes and customize my blog in the manner that best fit me including tools such as changing the background whether it be to a picture, color backdrop, or even an offered template of my picking. Blogger also allowed to make decisions such as my font, color of font, and size of font. All of these aspects are important in determining how the blog will best attract the readers attention.  As I initially began browsing through my options for a theme, I automatically went to customize. Week 1B: Social Media Use Today

     There are many different social media outlets that are utilized for different purposes to ultimately reach a goal. The basic idea associated with social media deals with the idea that a website or application is used to allow users to participate in sharing content in order to network. Social media has the ability to develop various primary concept such as making the purpose posting photos or posting thoughts/feelings. An important aspect of social media is the ability to have open communication resources allowing for comments and reactions to one another post. Personally, I believe that are many pros and cons that are associated with social media and it is hard to determine whether it is truly a negative component  of society or if it can ultimately beneficial to society.
