Week 6A: Engaging Your Customer: Facebook Strategies

In creating my own personal business page, I felt that it was important to find something similar to my own business so that I can see what pages had similar features and if they were successful in utilizing these features. I was able to find a couple of different pages that had different goals and purposes for being created. I found the following business pages to be useful in my search: "Nail Design"   Nail Design had a grabbing profile picture that caught my attention and made me want to see what was on their page. They are pretty popular on Facebook as they have 655,000 followers on their page. Most of their posts are videos of different types of nail designs for inspiration.  "Happiness Nails & Spa" I liked this page due to the fact that it is a local and well known nail salon nearby. I feel like although my business is primarily online and not in a salon, I believe that they have very useful tools that they incorporate on their page. They have 7,900 follow

Week 5B: Learning about Facebook Data Collecting

Facebook Tools:      Facebook offers many tools in which users have the ability to identify there progress and interactions with the community. Many of these features offer insight as to just how much interest they are getting so that business owners are aware if their promotion tactics are beneficial. Maintaining  a proper appearance and likeness on social media can be crucial to ones business success and vital to determining which they of consumers they will encounter.      An important that is used by face book includes "post reach" in which this allows for the business owners are able to get their post to different audiences within their feed. Many times it is difficult to promote your page unless you ask someone to give you a shout out so being able to utilize post reach will allow your post to reach a consumer through their every day scroll on their feed. It is important to make your post engaging because I myself, will often click by these quickly if they do not grab

Week 4B: Defining YOUR Target Market

My Target Audience About "A Little Press & No Stress" My business, A Little Press & No Stress" is designed to provide women with press on nails that easy, time efficient, and stylish for there every day needs. Many people do not have time to go to the nail salon and/or do not want to spend so much money on getting a new set of nails. With my brand, women will be able to get there nails delivered to them in a timely manner at a great price and quality. I wanted to start this business because I myself struggle sometimes to make it to the nail salon because I have so many things going on in my life. Sometimes I find myself at CVS looking for press ons that will fulfill my wants and needs. It's hard to find elaborate design in different shapes and lengths when you are looking at the drug store so I feel that my brand will be easy to access and manageable to buy in bulk if consumers wanted to do so. Target Consumer  The target consumer for my press on nails can ra

Week 4A: Defining Target Markets

Subway v. Hungry Bear Deli Subway  Subway has been a popular sandwich chain for as long as I can remember. I was actually as major consumer of the sandwiches growing up and enjoyed eating their food frequently. Subway has major marketing attempts such as using commercials and ads in order to promote their company. Recently, subway has also reached out to professional athletes as a source of promotion in order to amplify their business. For awhile, Subway went through a spell in which their food was questioned and determined as low quality compared to other sandwich shops in the food industry. They have made efforts to revamp their brand and bring a new message to the foods that they are serving.      Visiting the Subway website immediately brings a breath of fresh air if you are a previous consumer of theirs. There are promotions that stroll across the screen as soon as you get to the site in attempts to get the consumer engaged in what they are offering. I think that this tactic is s

Week 3B: Developing a Brand

My Brand Development My plan is to work on developing a women’s sportswear line as my personal brand. Fashion has always been a passion of mine since I was little alongside playing sports. Growing up as the only girl with two brothers and my dad, I found happiness in the middle of being a girly girl and a tom-boy. I learned most of my fashion from my dad as we would always go shopping and try to put together outfits based on how we were feeling that day. One of my favorite parts about going shopping with my dad was that we would place a limit on how much we could spend to create an outfit that day. I enjoyed the challenge of needing to find something that looked good together but was within the budget. Ever since we made this a habit, I am always looking to shop on a bargain and reminding myself that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to find something you love. This is ultimately what my brand represents; be comfortable with your comfort. There is no need to try to put yourself in

Week 3A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

Aesthetics, Design, and Branding  San Diego’s Craig List https://sandiego.craigslist.org/ A website should be enticing to its visitor upon immediate arrival. The first impression is a very significant feeling that could either make or break you. For a business, this first impression could leave some interested or uninterested in the products being sold. When visiting San Diego’s Craigslist website, I immediately found the website to be dull and unwelcoming. The website seemed to lack design factors such as colors, photos, a variety of fonts, and other appealing features. The website presents itself as almost overwhelming due to the fact that the first thing you see is a long  list of categories. The lack of design from Craig’s list could be the least of their worries due to the fact that they are not necessarily branding anything of their own rather they are a platform for other people to brand themselves and sell their own property thus making it not a priority to necessarily advertis

Princess Polly places their main focuses on ensuring that the clothing that they develop is the next big thing in the world of social media. Since Princess Polly is an online shop for consumers, they rely heavily on the idea of using social media platforms to spread coverage of their brand. Some social media platforms that they utilize include Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Facebook, Snapchat, Youtube, and even their own blog. As a internet based business i

Week 2A: Communication Between Consumer and Business

Consumer v. Business       There are many brands that are popular amongst consumer whether they are for the good or the bad. The ability to test out certain products that are beneficial to ourselves is the main purpose regarding the interaction between consumers and businesses. Most businesses, if not all, give consumers the opportunity to evaluate their products and write a review in regards to the positive and negative factors that are involved with the product. Often times the businesses offer the ability to rate their businesses on a one to five level star with one being the least pleased and five stars being highly pleased. In many cases, consumers will rely on this form of a review because of the quick and easy while still giving businesses some sort of feedback.      A popular company that I chose to research was Nike. Almost everywhere you look you will see a nike swoosh somewhere in the room whether it would be on a shoes, t-shirt, shorts, sweats, headbands, socks, etc.
